Fire Speaks – An Audience with Grandfather Fire

Who is Grandfather Fire—Traditional cultures throughout the Americas have long known Fire to be a wise and loving presence. Many Aboriginal and First Nations peoples call the Spirit of Fire Grandfather. Grandfather Fire has been a friend and teacher to humans for 800,000 years.  What is Fire Speaks? During Fire Speaks audiences, traditional healer Don David Wiley lends his body so the Spirit of Fire can manifest with human language and respond to questions from those who come to hear His stories and wisdom.* We gather for the afternoon to connect, play, hike and picnic.  Towards sunset, we make offerings to the fire and settle in for the evening around the sacred fire. We share heartfelt stories, jokes, laughter, poetry, music, drumming and dancing as community. Eventually as this energy of heart and joy builds an opening for Grandfather Fire to visit in this special way is ignited.  Fire speaks with us in response to your heartfelt questions, emotions and concerns – offering guidance, wisdom teachings, perspective, and laughter. Come with an open heart and an open mind.  *Although rarely seen in Western culture, “god-speakers” are not a unique occurrence. Many of the world’s respected and valued spiritual traditions feature traditional healers who become conduits for divine guidance.The Nechung oracle of the Dalai Lama is a well-known example.
